About Wooden Venetian Blinds – What are they?
Wooden Venetian blinds offer both privacy and light control. It is possible to angle the slats to face up or down to maintain privacy, whilst allowing light into the room.
Control Options
The control options are:
- Split Control
- Both Controls Left
- Both controls right
N.B. Blinds under 45cm and above 200cm will have a split control; raise/lower right, tilt left – this cannot be changed.
Headrails
Headrails are made from mild steel and come with a colour-coordinated wooden valence. Wooden acorns for raise/lower tilt controls are also colour-matched, as are the ladders/cords.
Tapes can be added to your blinds to add luxury and style. They are available to either complement or contrast with your slat colour of choice.
Slat sizes are:
- 25mm
- 35mm
- 50mm
- 63mm
Slat sizes vary according to blind collections.
Our hardwood wooden slats are Eco-friendly, as they come from sustainable forests. The wood is kiln-dried to remove moisture and then painted, stained or colour-washed. As wood is a natural product, different grains, striping and shades may appear when the blind is stained or colour washed. This is not a manufacturing fault, but the reason that every Wooden Venetian is unique.
Slat colours range from whites through to darker shades, including on-trend greys. Gloss finishes include white, cream and black. Soft grain slats perfectly show the grain of the wood in seven fantastic tones.
What rooms are best suited for Wooden Venetian Blinds?
As the origins of Wooden Venetian Blinds go back to the 17th century, these blinds are well suited to many properties and styles of windows, both period and contemporary.
We would not recommend Wooden Venetian Blinds for conservatories, as the huge variation in temperature can cause the wood to twist and warp.
Kitchens and bathrooms may also be unsuitable for temperature and humidity reasons, in which case we would recommend Faux Wood Venetian Blinds.
Faux Wood
Faux Wood Blinds are made from high-quality waterproof PVC. Easy to wipe clean, they are a great solution for rooms with a high moisture content, such as kitchens, bathrooms and wet rooms.
Blinds are supplied with a matching valance. Grain effect or silk slats are available in 35mm or 50mm. As an additional option, luxury tapes will add style to your blinds.
Controls are raise/lower on the right and tilt on the left.
These blinds are not recommended for conservatories.
