As we’re based in Dartford, the Orchard Theatre is pretty much on our doorstep so there’s always something to entertain us locals all year round. On this occasion, we thought we’d give a nostalgic nod to a show at the end of September that pays homage to the 1980s.
Ah, the 80s – where we had lead in our petrol, only four TV channels, no internet and, if you were wealthy enough to own an early mobile ‘brick’ phone (about £8,000 in today’s money), the lightest one weighed about a kilogram. We also all used to drive around with an A to Z in our cars – remember those?
Speaking of A to Z, whether you liked Adam Ant or ZZ Top, there was plenty of great music to choose from in the 80s (we’ll leave you, the reader, to decide what your definition of “good” is for that one!). And, you can relive some of those golden oldie memories at the end of September at The Orchard.
80’s Mania – The Orchard Theatre, Dartford – Thursday 29th Sept. 7.30pm
Billed as ” Europe’s Official Long-Standing Premier 1980’s Multi-Tribute Concert Show”, get ready for a lineup of 28 tribute acts and bands that faithfully recreate some of the most memorable chart toppers of the decade. We won’t list all of them here, but to whet your appetite, there’s Duran Duran, Wham, The Human League, Madonna and a ton of other big, big names.
This isn’t your average pub tribute act either – you’ll get the full monty at 80s Mania; laser and light shows, great singers and dancers, video projections and awesome costumes.

The organisers encourage you to dust off your old 80s gear in the attic and if you’re an 80s-loving lady, dancing around your handbag is not only expected, it’s required!
How much does it cost and where do I get tickets?
Tickets are £28 per person, or £3 less if you’re in a group of 10. A transaction fee of £3.65 will most likely apply (we’re not on commission btw!) You can find out more on the Orchard’s 80s Mania page.
