Could broken blinds knock thousands off your home’s value?
4th February 2024 – According to property expert Jonathan Rolande, having broken window blinds as well as a generally poor standard of interior design can reduce the value of your property by up to 20%. Apparently, it’s not just about how the property looks though, it’s also because having run-down window treatments that are showing signs of neglect could “suggest wider maintenance issues”.
This would mean that a £300,000 house might sell for as little as £240,000 if vendors are given a poor impression of how the property looks on the inside. The moral of the story is, if your blinds are broken, get them fixed or replaced as soon as possible!
